PraeLegal Uzbekistan once again took part in Uzbek Law Day in London, representing Uzbekistan’s professional legal community on an international platform. It is important to note that this type of legal event was organized by Uzbekistan in the United Kingdom for the first time, held at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in London. This marked a significant step toward establishing a sustainable expert dialogue between the two jurisdictions.

Uzbek Law Day showcased an innovative approach to promoting the national legal agenda and created favorable conditions for expanding professional engagement. The event’s format encouraged the strengthening of professional connections and the launch of knowledge exchange both among practicing lawyers and students. This contributes to long-term impact and lays the foundation for future joint initiatives.

Special attention was paid to the mutual interests of the participants: British lawyers highlighted the growing attractiveness of Uzbekistan’s legal system and expressed interest in studying it more deeply, including in the context of investment projects. In turn, the experience of English law shared by British specialists served as an important practical resource for Uzbek lawyers, enhancing knowledge exchange and contributing to the development of competencies in international commercial practice. Such bilateral interaction creates real opportunities for expanding cooperation and introducing best legal solutions.

Speakers and participants:
His Excellency Ravshan Usmanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the United Kingdom and Iceland
Diana Bayzakova, Director of the Tashkent International Arbitration Centre (TIAC)
Sherzod Abdulkasimov, Co-Managing Partner and Founder, PraeLegal Uzbekistan
Julia Barnes, Managing Partner, Barnes Law Associates
Dilfuza Akramova, Senior Lawyer, ENTER Engineering Group, MTO Project
Rupert D’Cruz KC, King’s Counsel, Barrister, Littleton Chambers

The culmination of the event was the ceremonial establishment of the British-Uzbek Legal Association (BrULA) - the only professional legal platform of its kind in the United Kingdom, aimed at strengthening bilateral ties, opening new horizons for cooperation, and inspiring the further development of the legal communities of the United Kingdom and Uzbekistan.

This event became far more than the formal launch of a new organization - it marked the beginning of a new era of cooperation between the legal communities of the two countries. With the creation of BrULA, lawyers from both nations now have a unique space for systematic and constructive dialogue, exchanging practical experience, and developing joint legal initiatives. Representatives of the legal community can now engage at a new level, combining knowledge, analytical approaches, and best practices aimed at improving legal regulation and strengthening professional collaboration.
