The Central Bank of Uzbekistan has introduced changes to the use of corporate bank cards (CBCs). According to the Board’s resolution (reg. MJ No. 3294-2 dated March 13, 2025), legal entities are now allowed to pay for electricity and natural gas via mobile applications using corporate cards in the national currency.
While the new rules expand available options, certain restrictions remain in place:
Transferring salaries, benefits, scholarships, or dividends to corporate cards is still prohibited
Withdrawing cash from CBCs is not allowed
Purchasing foreign currency is restricted (except for certain non-trade operations abroad, such as covering travel expenses, paying consular fees, and similar transactions)
Using CBCs for participation in auctions and public procurements is also prohibited
The amendments came into force on March 13, 2025, and are aimed at simplifying utility payments while maintaining existing corporate card restrictions.
