The Eighth Annual Central Asia Trade Forum, organized by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) together with the Ministry for Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, took place for the first time in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. On May 2018, during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh. M. Mirziyoyev to the United States, the Ministry for Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United States Agency for International Development signed a memorandum of understanding to hold a Central Asia Trade Forum in Tashkent.
The Forum had 1,200 visitors from 20 countries, 400 of whom were foreigners. The subject of the Forum, “New horizons in the development of trade and investment”, reflects the growing openness of Central Asia to regional and international trade, especially in Uzbekistan.It should be noted that the Forum was widely represented by foreign governmental institutions, business associations, the world’s largest manufacturing companies, as well as international financial institutions and organizations, including the World Bank, OECD, OSCE, EBRD, WTO, GIC and others. This event has established itself among business leaders, government officials and experts from Asia, the United States, Europe and the Middle East as a productive platform for exchanging ideas, making deals and creating new partnerships and future cooperation.
During the Forum the representatives of PraeLegal Uzbekistan international law firm discussed the prospects of future cooperation with foreign companies on providing legal and consulting services and in the end they agreed to work together.
